In the morning, Bitto visits Jitto's house where a distressed Jitto returns all the gifts from Bitu and her parents reveal to him the reasons behind her sadness, suggesting calling off the engagement.
Meher decorates the house for Bandi Chordivas, a festival, while Param expresses frustration about a misunderstanding with his school schedule. Meher explains the history of the festival and they engage in playful activities.
A misunderstanding leads to Meher splashing mud on a woman and her husband while playing with Param. They turn out to be Sarab's uncle and aunt, who have concerns about Meher's parenting skills. The confusion is cleared when Sarab introduces Meher as Param's mother.
At another location, Bitu discusses financial troubles with his family. He questions why Jitto's parents were asked for a large sum of money, and Kulwant tries to explain the situation.
