Kulwant tells Sarab that they are unable to find a venue for the event. He suggests doing the mehndi and sangeet at his place, emphasizing that he is Sarab's son. Kulwant expresses gratitude, saying thank you very much.
The function commences at Sarab's house. Dolly asks Sarab if he is standing at the door to welcome Meher. Sarab replies that he wants to show respect to her family. Dolly insists that he should go inside. Kulwant and her family enter the house. Kulwant inquires about Harleen's whereabouts.
Her husband informs them that she went to the salon. He introduces Harleen to Dolly, who silently judges them. Dolly greets Harleen, addressing her as "sarpanj" (a term of respect for the village head). Meher arrives in a car, and Dolly expresses her desire to meet the girl Sarab has chosen. Meher meets Sarab, and Dolly remarks that she wants to see who Sarab has chosen. She warmly welcomes Meher.
Meher enters the house, and Dolly mentions a trunk that is meant for her. Param sits with Meher, and she smiles. Sarab joins them, and Dolly explains that the trunk holds a ritual of their family. It contains a dress that is associated with their family and was made by Sarab's great-grandfather.
Dolly states that this dress is worn by their brides and has never been altered. She challenges Meher to try it on, and if it fits her, she would be considered perfect for Sarab. Dolly also mentions that Meher would receive their family's diamond necklace. Param confidently claims that the dress will fit her.
Dolly asks Sarab if Meher would pass this test. Param holds Meher's hand and leads her towards the trunk. Dolly hands the dress to Meher, and Harleen arrives, asking about Meher's whereabouts. Sarab informs her that she went to wear the dress, and Harleen decides to check on her. Meher descends the stairs wearing the dress, and it fits her perfectly.
Dadi confirms that Meher is wearing the dress perfectly and refers to her as their lioness. The dance begins, and Kulwant joins in. Dadi announces that Meher will receive the diamond locket, declaring her as their sardarni (leader). She places the locket around Meher's neck. Kulwant remarks that Meher cries when she is happy, and she hugs Meher, advising her to always have a happy face. Kulwant believes that Meher is made for Sarab.
Sarab extends his hand, and Meher holds it. Dolly mentions that she did the same in her wedding, with her husband lifting her. She encourages Sarab to do the same and he picks up Meher, taking her to the stage. Sarab notices Momsi's daughter-in-law and questions why she is alone. She explains that she had some work and didn't want to upset her mother. She believes that a widow should not attend such events. Sarab insists that she accompanies him and places her next to Meher.
Dolly expresses her displeasure, stating that she had warned Sarab not to show the widow's face in the event. Sarab pleads with his aunt, but she continues to express her resentment, blaming Meher for her son's death. Sarab requests his sister Sweeti not to leave, but Meher wipes her tears and reassures her, saying that she is a blessing and cannot be considered a curse. Harleen intervenes, suggesting that it's time to enjoy the celebration.
The music starts, and Meher sits on the stage. Harleen comments on how good she looks with Sarab, and Dadi reaffirms that Meher is their lioness. Meher suddenly leaves the stage, causing concern among Harleen and Amrita. They assume she went to the restroom.
However, Meher enters a room and expresses her inability to continue with the charade. She feels guilty for deceiving everyone and decides to tell Sarab the truth. Amrita pleads with her not to do so, but before Meher can speak, Sarab appears, shocking both Meher and Amrita.
