Bolt, the online ride-hailing company, has taken action against one of its drivers who was caught on video exposing himself indecently to female passengers.
The driver, identified as Moctor Indwasi, was filmed while driving in the upscale area of Lavington in Nairobi, simultaneously exposing and touching himself.
Bolt released a statement expressing its deep concern and empathy for the unfortunate incident. The company affirmed its commitment to promptly addressing such incidents and providing continuous support to its valued clients during difficult moments.
The indecent act by the driver was exposed by one of the two female passengers in the vehicle, leading to the driver being "forced" to cut the trip short and drop off the women.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko shared the video on his social media platforms and called on anyone with more information or those who have experienced similar incidents to come forward.
Sonko emphasized that such behavior should not be tolerated and urged young women to exercise extreme caution when using ride-hailing services, especially when they are vulnerable or unaccompanied.
