Tricholan, Meher's Father, Is Baack
Meher, Sarab, and Saloni are at the police station. Saloni says they have crossed the border and will arrive soon to meet their families after so long. Meher holds Sarab’s hand and cries. Officers start arriving one by one. The current soldiers salute the families and announce, “Major Nasim Khan.” An old man is brought in, and Meher cries.
They continue to call names. When they announce, “Subedar Trilochan Singh Dhillon,” Meher holds Sarab’s hand. They bring in her father, and Meher is shocked. He stumbles, and an officer holds him. Meher sees his feet and cries. He walks away from her, not recognizing her. Meher cries, and when he looks back at her, she says, “Daddy ji, I am Meher.” She hugs him, and Sarab joins in.
However, he asks, “Who are you people?” Meher cries as he calls for Kulwant Kaur. Meher continues to cry, saying, “Daddy ji, you’re a liar. I will never talk to you.” He recalls his daughter saying this to him when he was leaving. He stops, looks at Meher, and she says, “Daddy ji, I am your Meher. Your little Meher has grown up.” She hugs him, and he’s in shock. He asks, “You are Meher?” She nods. He then asks, “Where is Kulwant Kaur?” Meher and Sarab are confused.
Meher and Sarab take Trilochan home, and a doctor examines him. The kids come to see him. Seher asks, “Nanu?” Param asks, “Is he our nanu?” Karan adds, “Really?” Meher introduces them to their grandfather. She then introduces her father to Harleen and Sarab, but he remains silent, only saying, “Kulwant Kaur.” The doctor asks Meher and Sarab to step aside. Param asks his grandfather where he has been all these years.
The doctor explains that Trilochan is in great shock and won’t remember anything until Kulwant comes and talks to him. He urges them to call her. Harleen argues that it’s not possible, but Sarab insists she will come. Harleen is upset, asking how Sarab can allow it. Sarab says he can forgive the past for Trilochan’s sake. The doctor warns them that Trilochan can’t handle any more shock. Sarab wonders how they will bring Kulwant there.
Two men arrive at Kulwant’s haveli and inform her that they have orders to demolish the place. Kulwant threatens them, saying she built the haveli and will kill anyone who tries to destroy it. Meher arrives and confronts her, saying her entire life has been about power, built on lies. She urges Kulwant to accept the truth, but Kulwant blames Meher for her misfortune.
Meher tells her that she is wrong again and that what’s happening is a consequence of her own sins. Kulwant retorts that Meher has no right to judge her, asking on what grounds she is there since their relationship is broken. Meher responds, “For daddy ji.” Kulwant is shocked.
Kulwant angrily tells Meher not to bring her martyred husband into their conflict, saying he will never come between them. Meher shocks her by revealing that Trilochan is alive. Kulwant is in disbelief, and Meher explains that her father had been held in a Pakistani jail and was recently released due to Sarab’s efforts. Kulwant begs Meher to say she is lying, unable to believe that her husband is alive. She cries and asks if this is a cruel joke after she lived her life as a widow. Meher assures her that it is true, and Kulwant, overwhelmed with emotion, calls out for Bitu and Rana, telling them that their father is alive.
Kulwant laughs and cries, telling Bitu and Rana that their father has returned. Meher confirms that he has been asking for Kulwant. Kulwant, now desperate, asks Meher to take her to him, but Meher sets a condition. Meher tells Kulwant that she must leave behind her anger, lies, fraud, bitterness, and selfishness if she wants to meet her husband.
Kulwant is shocked and accuses Meher of plotting to humiliate her in front of Trilochan. Meher denies this, saying that if she wanted to insult her, she would have already told her father everything. She tells Kulwant that she has come to reunite her father with his entire family, including Kulwant.
Kulwant hesitates, saying she can’t trust Meher, but Meher responds that she has buried all her hatred toward her mother. She asks Kulwant to do the same for the sake of their family. Kulwant, in tears, agrees, saying she just wants to see her husband again. Meher finally agrees to take her to him.
At home, the children talk about their grandfather. Seher mentions how Meher told them stories about him taking her to the temple on his shoulders. Sarab brings food for Trilochan, who asks, “Where is Kulwant? Is she asleep?”
When Kulwant enters, Trilochan looks at her and says, “My queen, I told you I would come back.” He is emotional, telling her she hasn’t changed in 25 years and is still his moon. Kulwant, too, cries, saying her life passed as a widow and she prayed day and night for his return. Trilochan asks who was responsible for bringing him back, mentioning Sarab’s name. Kulwant confirms that Sarab is their son-in-law.
Trilochan blesses Sarab, grateful for his role in reuniting him with his family. The entire family gathers, with everyone hugging Trilochan.
Kulwant then apologizes to Sarab, holding his hands, acknowledging that he is the one who brought her husband back. Trilochan expresses his gratitude to Sarab and praises Meher for finding such a good man. The family is finally reunited, and Meher smiles through her tears.
