Choti Written Update Episode 2

Tuesday June 6 2023

At the dining table, Maher came back from having a cosy with Manav who is her new catch. She arrived home to a heat of a conversation about finding a perfect suitor for her. She tells her mum, Kulwant, if she can find a suitor for herself whom her mum would like- bearing in mind she is already hooked to Manav. Her mum isn’t impressed at all with her idea despite her brother Jagga echoing that Meher is right coz nowadays everyone finds a wife or husband for themselves. Hoping their mum is impressed, Jagga does nothing more but adds more salt to an already wounded and reddening spot. Kulwant orders all of them to remain silent and never to utter any word in her presence. She is the only one allowed to talk.

Kulwant summons Meher never to think of getting herself a man, lest she will get a world class lesson. She then orders Bittu and Ranna to keep watch of Meyer, everything she does, whom she talks to and where she goes. How I wish she knows Meher is seriously in love right now. But Kulwat’s intelligence doesn’t waste her. She definitely hints that time is running for Meher and she must be married off soonest.

Elsewhere, Meher can’t withstand her mum’s pressure. She saw Jagga can support her moves so she is hopeful of marrying Manav if things go well. Without much ado, she picks her call and her time to convince manav who can’t hide his happiness in finding love. Meher tells Manav to hurry up and talk to her brother Jagga and inform him about their love. She pressures Manav to move with speed and seek her hand in marriage through Jagga lest her mom will get her married off to an unknown man.

Manav pleads with her to let him seek her hand in marriage after he has cleared his doctorate studies in Agriculture. But due to the pressure from Meher, he tells her he will go to their home for marriage talks. Right on time, Bittu and Rana are by the door inspecting Maher’s moves. It forces Meher and Manav to cut their long story short with some sweat goodnight wishes. Yes, they were talking at night like every lovers would.

Mr. Sharma is amazed to find Manag still at the shop at night despite working all day, just talking through the phone. He tells Manav he should do himself justice by purchasing his own phone, which Manav responds to that a phone will distract him from his studies.

Back to Meher’s room, Bittu and Rana snatch her phone. It is Bittu who is in hold of the phone. Meher tells them she will complain to their mum but they tell her nothing will be done to them for she (mum) is the one who assigned them the duty to watch over her. Bittu calls the last number in the call.

Luckily, Manav had walked away and one of the servants receives the call asking them why they have called Sharma restaurant when it is already closed. Bittu and Rana says so she was just ordering food. Meanwhile, this is a huge sigh of relief to Meher who was so tensed should they hear Manav’s voice.

Kulwant enters the scene, asks what is going on and orders them to return her phone back. Meher leaves. Rana tells Kulwat that Meher had a confused face when they revealed to her they are keeping an eye on her. This only attracts a hot slap from their mum who rubbishes them for being fools. They can’t act like detectives.

Back to her room, Meher is crazy at Manav’s pic. She looks at the pic and smiles profusely talking to herself blushing like a bull who has smelt a cow’s birth canal. She wishes Manav had a phone but claims it is better he has not, for that can land her in a ditch. Wow! Meher is lost in love, her mum must marry her off very fast lest.....

It is morning, Meher wakes up to a newspaper which she wants to see where her boyfriend Manav’s doctorate announcement is published. She is called by Amrita. On coming back, she finds Jagga with the newspaper which she requests him. Jagga is caught by surprise concerning when Meher started reading a newspaper.

Anyway, he tells her he will return it back when done reading it and tells Meher to prepare for him some tea. She prepares the tea while looking at him like a hungry maggot, so thirsty for the newspaper. She prepares tea, serves them including her mum- Kulwat. Kulwat, who was on phone call, assumes Maher’s tea forcing Meher to apologise for her earlier utterances about finding a suitor.

“Freedom is good only when one doesn’t pay a price to it”. That is Kulwat’s response to Meher upon asking for forgiveness. She reminds her never to forget or mistake the freedom she has allowed her since childhood. She insists on not taking Meher’s tea citing it belongs to Jagga.

Maher has been beaten pants down and is left with no option but to prepare dough for chapatti as Amrita bathes Yuvi. She does it so well while looking at Jagga, who is enjoying every sip of the tea, time to time for the newspaper.

Before she could finish, Yuvi tears the newspaper after Jagga left it, to make a toy aeroplane. The torn part contains Manav’s pic and doctorate details. Meher’s efforts to snatch it from him go in vain when she is told to let the kid play. Yuvi throws it up and it sticks on top of a tree. Meher climbs up the treat and gets it. She reads it with a lot of happiness seeing how her future husband is beating the odds.

Inside the house, Meher finds when Yuvi has entangled his shoe laces because he wanted to visit a washroom. She disentangles them back. Amrita finds her tying Yuvi’s shoe laces. She is so impressed that she does it so easily. She tells Meher that those who disentangle shoe laces so easily never face problems in relationship. Can this be true??? Let’s keep an eye on Maher we shall see.

Meher is on her way to college for Manav’s doctorate celebration. At the same time, her mum Kulwant went with Mr. Hukkumchand to meet Hon. Sarbarjeet. Kulwat is so eager to meet Sabarjeet Gill and can’t wait any longer. Mr. Sabrjeet Gill arrives in a convoy of four white automobiles under supervision of highly trained lethal bodyguards. Kulwant went with Bittu and Rana. She admires Gill’s security and wishes she had some -for show off.

In the party, Meher and Manav can’t hide their happiness they dance together in company of friends and enemies poised as friends. Mr. Sharma’s is so impressed. This party has been organized by Meher to her man-to-be, Manav. Manav receives various gifts. On top of the party, Meher gives him beautifully colored scarf which Manav happily embraces.

At the same time, her mum Kulwat wears a scarf to Gill but he removes it and hands it to one of his escorts. Chief Kulwat is introduced to Mr. Gill but before they can talk more, shouts of all kinds fills the air. It is about a guy who has fallen down from an electric shock. Mr. Gill puts his being a leader aside and runs like a wizard to help the man. He asks for water.

Kulwat goes and brings toilet water which Bittu asks her why but she says she is doing that to impress Gill. On reaching, she finds when water had been brought and the guy is now awake. Gill looks impressed by her move. He orders her to drink that water which she brought. She runs out of options and drinks the dirty water herself. She should have looked before she leaped. Her own trap has fallen her down.

Back at the party, it is enjoyment after enjoyment, gifts after gifts. Mr. Sharma gifts Manav a name plate written “Dr. Manav Sharma”. Guess what? Manav is Mr. Sharma’s adopted son. He adopted him 17yrs ago, educated and offered him a job in his supermarket. Manav is so delighted that even hen can tell it.

It is a back and forth switch. From the Manav’s party to Gill. Gill is now addressing the crowd with a specified message to the kids. He reminds them they are the future leaders of tomorrow. Most importantly, he tells them to always listen more and talk less for they have two hears and one mouth.

Gill’s speech reveals his trueness. He is a powerful nice but humbled man who greets and addresses everyone with love and respect. His speech was so powerful that Kulwat had to remove her specks to hear and see him well. She tells Rana that finally they have found the perfect man for Meher, just like Jagga always wishes.

Meher herself is happy that they can now marry each other with Manav for Manav is done with schooling and will soon go to Jagga to seek her hand for marriage. She takes him to the temple so they can dedicate their love to god as they had agreed that once he gets his doctorate, they will both go and pray.

They are in the temple praying. Mr. Gill also comes in for prayers. He kneels beside Meher to the left. While Manav to the right. As they pray, Mr. Gill and Meher seem to draw than Manav and Meher. They bow almost at the same time, with Manav bowing late with seconds.
